Membership privacy notice
How SCLA handles the information you give us when you apply for and hold membership. Draft — to be approved by SCLA before launch.
What we collect
Your e-mail address (confirmed by a sign-in link), the information you enter in your application, files you upload, your decisions on offers, and payment confirmations from our payment provider. We never receive or store your card details.
Why
To assess your application against the published criteria, to offer and manage your membership, to issue and verify your certificate, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
AI-assisted assessment
An AI service (Google Gemini) helps prepare a recommendation. We share only what is needed for the assessment: your answers about experience, learning and contribution and the text of your supporting files. Your name, e-mail address and country are not sent. The AI does not make final decisions for Fellow, Institutional or exceptional applications, and you can ask for a human review at any time.
Who can see your application
Only authorised SCLA assessors and administrators. Uploaded files are stored outside the public website and are never publicly accessible.
Public verification
The verification page shows only what is needed to check a certificate: the name on the certificate, the category, the status and the validity dates.
How long we keep it
Uploads of declined or withdrawn applications are deleted after 365 days; unfinished drafts after 180 days of inactivity. Membership and payment records are kept as long as required for the membership and by law.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion by contacting SCLA through the Membership Portal.
