SCLA brings people together to strengthen understanding, widen access to legal knowledge and support peaceful cooperation.
Who we are
The Swiss Chinese Law Association is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organisation founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2019. SCLA has held special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2026.
Our roots lie in legal exchange between Switzerland and China. From this foundation, we encourage cooperation with Europe and the wider international community, bringing legal professionals, researchers and civil society into dialogue about law’s role in public life.

SCLA’s special consultative status with ECOSOC places our work within a wider framework of civil society engagement with the United Nations. We seek to contribute perspectives informed by legal exchange, public education and cooperation across cultures.
Our status is held by SCLA as an organisation. Participation in individual meetings and activities is subject to the relevant rules and procedures.
