The first Sino-Swiss International Sports Arbitration, will be heldonline on March 30, 2020, at 11.00-13.30CET time(17.00-19.30 Beijing time). Lawyers over 8 countries and regions will participate the forum.

On February 28, 2020, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)announced the arbitration results of the previous World Anti-DopingAgency. Chinese swimmer Sun Yang will be suspended for eight years. Theforum will highlight the Sun Yang case – exploring the implications from theperspective of Chinese and world sports arbitration lawyers and discussing thestatus of the arbitration tribunal (CAS) established by the InternationalOlympic Committee, Arbitration Procedure and Jurisdiction of Sports, and theappeal process of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court. The first Sports ArbitrationForum will also examine how to promote future cooperation between Chinese andforeign lawyers in the field of sports arbitration.

The first forum invited the world’s top sports arbitration lawyers,Jean-Pierre Morand (Partner of  Kellerhals Carrard, member of the FINALegal Committee, legal counsel of the International Olympic Committee), Lucien William Valloni  partner of FIFPro (Fédération Internationale desAssociations de Footballeurs Professionnels)  Director of theInternational Professional Players Association (FIFPro), and Philippe VladimirBoss (Partner of the  BianchiSchwald LLC law firm), and former Registrarof the Swiss Federal Criminal Court.

Jean-Pierre Morand, Partner of Carrard Kellerhals, Counsel of IOC and FINA

Jean-Pierre Morand specializes in corporate and sports law. He acts as counsel for international sporting federations and major event organisers. His services are regularly required in international arbitration proceedings, including before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). He has served in Baker & McKenzie New York and Geneva, IMG as lawyer and counsel. He is currently a partner at Carrard Kellerhals in Lausanne.

Ping Zhang,Gold medal winner in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games

Ms. Zhang Ping is an renowned formal professional athlete in Chinese National Volleyball Team as a middle blocker, as the “Golden Generation Member” . She is a gold medal winner in the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. During her professional career, she led the team to win 2003 Asian Volleyball Championship, 2006 Asian Game, 2003 FIVB Volleyball World Cup etc. Currently, she is currently a lecture in Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr.Lucien Valloni is a highly experienced litigator in both international and domestic criminal, commercial and arbitration cases in the Swiss courts, up to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court level. Lucien Valloni is well known for his expertise in the field of appealing arbitration awards to the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, especially in Sports Arbitration. Lucien Valloni is a partner at Froriep, Zurich. 

Fang Ye, Senior partner at AllBright Law Office

Amy Ye is a Ph. D. in law and senior partner of AllBright Law Offices. Her practice areas include cross-border investment & financing, Merger & Acquisition, dispute resolution, real estate/infrastructure, entertainment law, and ‘Free Trade Zone’ legal services, etc. Dr. Ye has provided legal services for a number of banks, financial institutions, and multinational and domestic enterprises in recent years,her clients include DBS Bank Group, Pepsi (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Master Kong Holding Co., Ltd., etc.

Philippe Vladimir Boss,Partner at Bianchichwald

A former clerk at the Federal Criminal Court of Switzerland,  His practise areas including money-laundering, bribery and fraud cases. Philippe Vladimir Boss advises and appears before various jurisdictions in sports law related matters. He specifically advises international federations and officials in sport integrity issues (good governance, disciplinary proceedings, match-fixing, anti-doping, clubs’ multi-ownership).

Guo Cai, LexVeritas

Ms. Guo Cai oversees the LexVeritas Sports and International Law Group, Jin Mao Law Firm (People’s Republic of China), the first Chinese law firm to have a practice group dedicated to the sports industry. Ms. Cai graduated from Harvard Law School and China University of Political Science and Law. She also held an LLM in Human Rights (distinction) from the University of Hong Kong.

Mr. Ming Wu, Partner of Zhong Lun Law Firm Shanghai office. Mr. Wu was admitted to practise in both PRC and England & Wales. He specializes in international commercial arbitration and international sport arbitration. Mr. Wu is one of the few Chinese lawyers who have practical experiences in sport arbitrations before FIFA Dispute Resolution Committee (FIFA DRC), Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT) and Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
